David Johnson is the Tax Partner at FPG Tax & Accounting. He has intensive professional experience with accounting process management, tax preparation and planning, private company and government auditing, and business consulting.
His early professional experience was in retail management working 13 years at Menards in Burlington, IA, Rockford, IL, and Iowa City, IA. During this time, David completed every management training course available. Through this experience, he learned how to hire and retain good people, manage projects, and solve problems.
David received an accounting degree from the University of Iowa with High Distinction in 2017. He began his career in public accounting in 2018 and earned his Iowa CPA license the following year. In 2021, David moved from Southeast Iowa to Kansas City where he worked as Tax & Audit manager for a Liberty based CPA firm. David accepted a position at Kaufman & Nichols in February of 2023, and he helped guide the team through the transition to FPG Tax & Accounting.
